Some important  grammar from 'three questions' :( narration change) 

1)''You are tired'' said the Tsar.

The Tsar said that he was tired.

2)'' Thanks''said the hermit.

The hermit thanked the Tsar.

3)' 'Here comes someone running' ', said the hermit.

The hermit said that there came someone running.

4)'' forgive me'', said the bearded man.

The bearded man requested to forgive him.

5)'' you have already been answered'', said the Hermit to the Tsar.

The hermit told the Tsar that he had already been answered.



Voice change ::

1) They all answered his questions differently.

His questions were all answered differently by them.

2) one must consult magicians.

Medicines must be consulted.

3) the Tsar put on Simple clothes.

Simple clothes were put on by the Tsar.

4) the hermit was digging the ground.

The ground was being dug by the hermit.

5) the Tsar brought fresh water.

Fresh water was brought by the Tsar.

6) you have already been answered.

Someone has already answered you.

7) that man would have attack you.

You would have been attacked by that man.

8) the hermit gave no answer.

No answer was given by the hermit.


 transformation of sentences:

1) he would never fail in anything he might Undertake. ( affirmative)

He would always succeed in anything he might Undertake.

2) it is only the magicians who know that.( negative) 

 none but the magicians know that.

3) the Tsar agreed with none of them. ( affirmative)

The Tsar disagreed with all of them.

4) I do not know you. ( affirmative)

 you are unknown to me.

5) the blood would not stop flowing. ( affirmative)

Blood would continue to flow.

6) it is the most important time. ( negative)

No other time is so important as it is.


7) forgive me! (Assertive) 

You must forgive me. 



1) they all answered his questions differently. ( adjective form of differently)

They all answered his questions in a different manner.

2) all the answers being different, the Tsar agreed with none of them. ( compound sentence)

All the answers were different, so the Tsar agreed with none of them.


Joining of sentences:

1) learned men came to the Tsar. they answered his question differently.

Learned man, who came to the Tsar, answered his questions differently.

2) The Hermit listened to the Tsar. he answered nothing.

The hermit listened to the Tsar, but answered nothing.

3) when he reached the Tsar , he fell fainting on the ground moaning feebly.( split up) 

He reached the Tsar. He fell fainting on the ground moaning feebly.
